Q: A person is holding the Qur’aan in his hands and reciting while seated on a chair. In front of him is another person also seated on a chair but with his back towards the reciter. Between the two the only barrier is the chair-back. Is this permissible?

A: If the chair-back is a whole, solid piece of wood, not strips with gaps in between, then there is nothing wrong with this, nor any sin.
